Night
The Night is
high,
Up in the
sky,
Cloaked in
stars,
Shimmering
and far.
I wonder
what she says,
To every
star to stay,
She is dark,
gloomy in sight,
Yet the
stars twinkle, besides her alright.
The moment
she comes,
Life sulks,
and Stillness arise,
She is left
alone,
Juggling the
lonely tide.
No
companion, no friend,
No lodge, or
rest,
She roams
berserk,
She roams
and sighs...
Why is she
the one who is so dark?
Strayed and
alone, where did it all start?
Her darkness
can engulf every spark or light,
Only the
stars lit her up for sometime.
Stillness
tease, Darkness barks,
Her drapes
are torn, Her hair messed up.
Still she
continues to move upright,
As she has
to move till bright Morning arrives.
She puts to
sleep, herself she awakes,
She lulls
the air, and rests the palms.
She pauses
the noise, to spread some peace,
Yet herself
she is disturbed, with no respite.
She is
beautiful, her charm is naive,
It’s not her
fault if Black is her Life,
She was born
to rejuvenate the breathing kind,
She was
made, to witness the dull, and quiet.
The Night
thus wonders why her face is not bright.
Why is she
feared, why is she not “Nice”?
Why her
dress is sombre, grave and wide?
Why is her
charm only visible to wine?
She has so
many questions,
With no
replies,
Yet, she
continues,
With her
chained feet, to smile.
Shackled to
start when the Light resides,
After a
beautiful day in the meadows and sunshine,
In a warm
house where Happiness dwells,
Where
everything rests after a successful day’s ride.
The Night is
still, serene and divine,
She is also
true, also precious and sublime,
She too
shines, yet her lustre mystifies,
She is the loner,
who only gives to mankind!
Nupur..man u really wasting ur time in this job..no kiddin but how beautifully you have explained the situation of night who gives peace to everyone, makes everyone calm, but in inside she must b so sad and in grief about her being black and lonely...Very well Nupur...
ReplyDeleteBut i would just say one thing more..Jus remember night gives one thing to people which is the source of all the motivation and good work...rather it is the source of all the people yet going ahead - it is "a ray of hope that there will be a day in a while..jus hold urself"!!.
Kaudan one nice one again.... in each of your work one can observe darkness, but in this piece, you have shown the positive and brighter side of night.....
ReplyDeleteEveryone says "Is raat ki bhi subah hogi"... par in your words... Us raat se puchho kaisa lagata hai bura hona.... roshani ki ahmiyat andhere se hi pata chalti hai...
Like this part too much:
ReplyDelete"The Night thus wonders why her face is not bright.
Why is she feared, why is she not “Nice”?"
Actually in earlier times, when men were in caves, they used to fear night. As they didn't knew what causes the sun to go down, so they feared it. I think, somehow, that fear is still within our genes.
Also this part
"Stillness tease, Darkness barks,
Her drapes are torn, Her hair messed up.
Still she continues to move upright,
As she has to move till bright Morning arrives."
It shows that she is struggling to reach the morning light. Like the way you put her struggle and the messy look.
wow..!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful .!!
